This page describes the specific doula services we offer.  If you need more information about what a doula is and how they help, visit our About Doulas page.  All of our doula services described below include a no obligation - free consultation meeting.  We will provide the opportunity and encourage you to meet several of our doulas.  It is important for you to feel comfortable and connected to the doula you invite to your birth or into your home to care for you and your family.

Birth Doula Services

  • Two to three prenatal meetings to discuss in detail your preferences for childbirth and how your doula can best support you
  • Unlimited email and phone support to answer any questions or concerns you may have during your pregnancy
  • Continuous nurturing support throughout labor and delivery
  • One to two postpartum visits to assist you in processing your birth, to celebrate and admire your new baby, and to provide useful resources and/or information about our postpartum doula services

Our doulas work with you prenatally to learn as much as we can about what your ideal childbirth experience looks like to you.  As your birth journey unfolds, we work with you and your caregivers during labor and assist you in navigating the unexpected to help you have an empowering and satisfying birth experience.

Postpartum Doula Services

Whether you decide you need postpartum support three months before you have your baby or three months after your baby is born, we are available to support you.  Our postpartum services include:

  • Evidence based information regarding newborn care
  • Emotional and physical support for the family and to assist mom during her postpartum recovery
  • Basic household assistance, such as providing meals or doing laundry, so mom has increased opportunities for rest and is better able to concentrate on bonding with and caring for her baby
  • Assistance with providing care for older siblings
  • Tips for avoiding and/or dealing with postpartum depression and anxiety
  • Techniques for calming and soothing a fussy baby
  • Providing connections to local resources and support groups

Each family has unique and individual needs and our postpartum doulas provide the nurturing, nonjudgemental support each family needs and deserves.

Antepartum (Prenatal) Doula Services

An antepartum doula serves women on bedrest or women who are having difficult pregnancies and need emotional, physical, and/or educational support.  Antepartum doulas help care for you and your family to ease the burden of a difficult pregnancy by providing services similar to those services described above but may also include:

  • Help processing fears and concerns during a difficult or high risk pregnancy
  • Suggestions for pain coping practices, comfort and postition techniques when dealing with limited mobility
  • Physical and emotional preparation for planned inductions or cesarean births
